To achieve health benefits, adults aged 18-64 years should accumulate at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity per week, in bouts of 10 minutes or more. It is also beneficial to add muscle and bone strengthening activities using major muscle groups, at least 2 days per week. More physical activity provides greater health benefits. Pick a time, Pick a place. Make a plan and move more.

SIH Award - Sep 2016

Step into Health annual awards ceremony held on 6 September 2016 was organised by Aspetar’s Exercise is medicine department and was attended by a number of participants and Aspire Zone staff. This ceremony was held in recognition of active walkers from three categories with the main criteria being that the program goal of 10,000 steps a day during this time. The three categories were Aspire Dome and Mall Ramadan walkers; SIH members averaging 10,000 steps a day during Ramadan; last and most importantly SIH members who averaged 10,000 steps or more a day since the start of the program in Dec 2012.
